Very generally what the seasonal trend patterns for Oil show is that the CL contract prices have tended to trend up from around mid-February to mid-July, and down for the other weeks of the year. The future is never a perfect repeat of the past, but to some degree past trends may repeat. Since we have now passed mid-February, by seasonal trends one might expect the CL contract to trend higher in price… but of course it is a US election year which, for the sake of the incumbent administration, there is resistance to exorbitant energy prices.
